tut 3.1

Hello!

Welcome to the third installment of this affirmation series.

In the first installment, we covered Composition.

Then we tackled the important component of Believability.

Next up…..

Frequency!

tut 3.2

Frequency is key in working with affirmations.

Along with believability, it is one of the most important factors to having your Super-Amazing-Incredible Affirmations actually work.

And isn’t that the point?

Having an affirmation that doesn’t work is like having an old, out-of-commission car in your front yard.

It’s just taking up space.

And there’s rust involved.

We don’t want that for you!

In order for your affirmations to be the most effective, you need to say them a lot.

Like, really a lot.

In order for this to happen, you need to have two things in place. When you do your affirmations, and How you do them.

1. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE WHEN

If you want your affirmations to work, it helps to have some sort of regular routine.

Morning is a popular time for lots of folks. Not only does it insure that you won’t forget your affirmations as the day gets rolling, it starts you out in a peppy, positive way.

tut 3.3

I like to bust out my affirmations first thing in the morning. I say them in my head before I get out of bed.

Then I say more when I take my morning walk.

If you’re not a morning person, however, there are lots of other great times to do affirmations.

When you’re in the car. When you’re in the shower. When you go to the bathroom. When you’re on a break at work. And, of course, before you go to bed at night.

tut 3.4

Another cool thing is to pair a regular mindless activity with affirmations.

In my case, our mailbox is a short walk from our house. As I’m walking to get the mail, I bust out some affirmations. It adds a little spring to my step, and makes a mindless activity a little less mindless.

The more you do your affirmations, the more they have a chance to catch hold and transform your life.

To help insure that you do them as often as you can, another key component is how you do them.

2. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE HOW

How many ways are there to do affirmations?!

Tons!

You can speak them.

You can write them longhand.

You can type them.

You can turn them into a song and sing them.

tut 3.5

You can read them.

You can say them in your mind.

You can visualize them happening as you say them in your mind.

You can meditate on them.

You can record them and listen to them. (This is especially groovy, because you think in your own voice. So hearing your affirmations in your own voice goes straight to your mind in a really cool way.)

tut 3.6

Another really effective way to do affirmations is to say them to yourself while you look into the mirror. This technique is not for everyone, so if it feels too touchy-feeley – or just too weird – you might want to hold off on this for a while.

Or maybe forever.

The most important thing is that you find the way (or ways) you like best, and then do them!

Don’t force yourself to do affirmations in a modality that doesn’t work for you. Find a modality – or two, or three – that you like best and go to town.

What town is that?

Super-Amazing-Incredible Affirmation Town, of course.

A town that is directly adjacent to the metropolis of…

Super-Amazing-Incredible Life!

tut 3.7

Next up, our fourth and final installment. We’ll be putting the finishing touches on our Super-Amazing-Incredible Affirmations.
I can’t wait!
