You just described my life and my past few years with setting boundaries. I, too, have discovered they really help especially with certain family members. My self-love has improved greatly since I started setting boundaries with my stepdad. Now that my mother is in Heaven and no longer suffering, he and I are getting along very well and I credit it to my setting boundaries for myself over these past 2-3 years and after my Mom’s passing. I Am so very grateful for boundaries and self-Love!
