Your description of yourself sounds JUST like me. I’ve often had people confused, even upset, when I’m in my introverted state because they met me in my extroverted state. I suppose I didn’t realize the true depth of irritation I’ve been holding onto about my divine design until reading this. I require an immense amount of alone time & to this day, most don’t understand however a few do and those are my peeps 😁 the others I’ve walked away. It does take clear communication and conscious give and take with friends, family, & lovers. ❤😇 Thank you for these seeds of thought…

Wow this is a great message. I too am an introvert but I love to be social…on my terms. Now I understand that I’m an outgoing introvert!! Such a relief. And my partner is a full blown extrovert. We are learning to work with our different natures. More and more he understands my need for alone time.

And I’m now married to someone who pretty much shares your style. As you probably remember, I’m just as much an introvert as you are, but I tend to be more of the wallflower, so I don’t end up with as much to process, or need as much downtime. There’s a book called “Quiet” by Susan Cain that’s been hugely helpful to me in coming to grips with this stuff… worth a look if you haven’t seen it.

Meaning I have both introverted and extroverted needs. I am very fed by the energy of being around people but I also really do need time alone to recharge. In Human Design I am a projector which also explains why my quiet alone time is so vital. Having a deep understanding of myself and the courage to communicate my needs and do what is best for me allows me to be my best possible self in all my relationships. My true friends would rather I be true to myself than go against my nature simply to please them.
