Religion and politics are great topics to avoid at family gatherings. Why? Because most of us agree that being kind is a good thing! When people bring up any controversial topic, I remind myself to practice kindness. The Dalai Lama says “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” It’s such a simple, if not always easy, thing to practice. I can ask myself, what would Kindness do?
