When you think of a password, what comes to mind?
How often you forget them?
Sharing them with others so you can watch Netflix or Hulu?
Getting hacked and having your passwords – and identity – stolen?
Those are all perfectly acceptable answers, but how about the power of passwords as a portal of spiritual transformation?
No? Just me?
Several years ago, in a discussion about affirmations, someone told me they use an affirmation as their password to log into their computer. That way, every time they log in, they are affirming something wonderful about themselves.
I thought that was a fantastic idea, so I immediately changed my password to iamloved. This phrase was followed by some numbers and symbols I’m not going to reveal on the world wide web. (Because iamnottryingtogethacked.)
I’ve been using this as my password for years now. Every time I type it, I make a point to feel into what I’m typing. Sometimes I say it out loud. Or if I’m in a place where saying it out loud might be strange, I whisper it to myself.
I also adjusted my settings so every time my computer goes to sleep, I have to enter my password again.
This has meant that multiple times during the day, I remember that I am loved.
In the time I’ve been using this password, I’ve noticed that my experience of feeling loved by Spirit has increased. Not in a huge, all-at-once way, but slowly. Incrementally.
Typing that password into my computer has changed me. Little by little, bit by bit, my awareness of myself as a spiritual being who is adored by the Divine has become amplified. Enhanced.
In other words, my password has been a portal for spiritual transformation.
I have tons of passwords for tons of different accounts, and most of them are of the 56ThU*mk386 variety. They’re passwords I don’t use often, so I have a password manager to store them all.
I suppose I could have come up with a ton of different affirmations for all those different passwords, but given that my computer login is the password I use all the time, I only use an affirmation for that one.
But what a powerful one it’s been!
If this Password As Affirmation practice appeals to you, I highly recommend it. Even if it doesn’t appeal to you, I highly recommend it.
After all, you have to type something into that empty box to get into your computer.
Why not make it something that has the power to completely transform your life?

Hi Marina,
You are totally my person! 🙂 Even if not THAT person. But my person nonetheless! 🙂

BRILLIANT!! Thank you so much!☺️💖
Hi Angele! You are so welcome! 🙂 XOZ
I’ve used a common root with a formula to customize it to a specific website; now I know to change my common root! Love it thanks for sharing!!
You are so welcome! Enjoy! 🙂
I’ve been doing that with my work emails that have to be changed every 90 days. I focus on a new password affirmation every 90 days and it feels great!
That’s so great. Nice way to take advantage of the frequent changes! 🙂
I have used affirmations or contemplations for quite some time, primarily because I remember them.
I like variations using the word beloved or love.
Yes, variations in the words are a great way to affirm different qualities! 🙂
Great idea, im going to try it!
Ill let you know how it works…
Yay! Yes, definitely let me know! 🙂
