There are so many things I can do before I say something unhelpful. I can take a breath. I can take a minute – or more! I can examine what’s going on inside me that I may be trying to project onto someone else. And I can touch into the heart of me and find my sense of compassion. Once I’ve done one – or all – of these things, I am in a better place to speak. With kindness, compassion, and self-awareness.
