The more I connect with Spirit, the more I know that I am not my emotions. I may get agitated. I may feel over­whelmed. I may experience sadness. But this is not who I am. Spiritual practice helps me to cultivate a witness con­sciousness. As I witness my life and my emotions, I stay centered. No matter what happens, and no matter how I react, there is a part of me that is calm. That simply sees.
