blog.i'm the woe

We all have them.

No matter what vibration we’re normally groovin’ on, we all have people in our lives who are groovin’ – or not really groovin’ at all – on a much lower vibe.

We also may be fortunate enough to have people in our lives who are groovin’ on a way higher vibe.

Those folks are awesome. They’re inspiring. We want to follow them around and soak up their high-flying energy and awesomeness.

But the low-vibe folks?

Not so much.

I don’t know about you, but even though the low-vibe peeps make me want to run for the hills, I feel a tad bit guilty about it.

Or at least I did.

Till I talked to my friend Jill Shinn.

Jill is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who’s also a serious spiritual seeker. I was talking to her about this very issue recently, and she pointed out something that has stayed with me ever since.

When someone from the nonphysical realm comes to earth to comfort someone, they don’t stay very long.

Why?

Because if they stay in the vibration of this plane, which is significantly lower than the realm they’re used to hanging out in, it screws them up.

Same thing, Jill wisely pointed out, with hanging with peeps of the low-vibe persuasion. It’s okay to hang with them for a bit, especially if said-peep is in need of a little boost.

But then?

Get the bleep outta there!

You know when someone tells you something super smart? And you totally resonate with it because you already knew it?

That’s what it was like when Jill told me this.

I already knew it.

I already knew it, and I was already doing it!

But.

There was that crappy guilt goin’ on.

Jill’s description helped me let go of the guilt.

The low vibe/high vibe thang is a fact.

Whether you’re aware of it or not, whether you honor it or not, that’s how things work around here.

Jill’s information helped me see that I’d been making myself wrong for something I didn’t need to make myself wrong about!

Indeed, I was right on track by taking care of myself, but my assessment of what I was doing was totally off!

Come to think of it, my guilt-inducing assessment was pretty low vibe.

Not the kind of vibe I want to spend much time with, if you know what I mean.

Thank you, low-vibe guilt view, it’s been fun hanging with you. Or not. And now?

I gotta go!
